Rapide team member becomes a scholar
One of the Rapide team has recently been recognised as a ‘leader of the future’ and awarded a prestigious Marketing Academy Scholarship.
Yiannis Maos, Marketing Media Executive, will join 27 of the UK’s brightest marketing talent in a year long program of mentoring, training and development led by a team of voluntary coaches.
Yiannis completed a rigorous selection procedure before being accepted in to the Academy for their part time, 12 month learning experience.
The scheme is backed by the UK’s most senior Marketing Directors and is intended to develop leadership capability in naturally talented marketers. Over 50 industry-leading mentors have all agreed to give their time for free, including CEOs, CMOs and MDs of some of the country’s most successful organisations.
The mentors include Sally Cowdry, UK Marketing Director of O2, Phil Rumbol, Marketing Director of Cadbury, Robert Senior, CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Fallon Group, Mark Lund, CEO of the COI, Andy Fennell, CMO of Diageo and Helen Kellie of BBC Worldwide.
Sally Cowdry said of Yiannis:
'Yiannis has demonstrated a high level of ambition, creativity and achievement during the Scholarship Selection Process which really set him apart from an extremely talented group of candidates.
It's clear that Yiannis has the passion about the capabilities and potential of mobile marketing, as the best work is done by those who love what they do.'

Yiannis said:
‘This is a once in a life time opportunity and I feel privileged to be a part of it. Already I’ve met with senior executives from the likes of Disney and Google. It’s amazing to be able to have one on one coaching and guidance from people you have such a huge amount of respect for.
I'm looking forward to taking what I learn from these sessions and putting them in to practice.’

As well as benefitting from this world class education the marketers will also have the opportunity to give back by engaging in charity work. Yiannis has already started this process by visiting ‘Special Effect’ an Oxfordshire based charity who specialise in helping young people with disabilities to enjoy computer games.
