National Farmers' Union Case Study
Incident Management
The challenge
The National Farmers' Union (NFU) was founded in 1910 and represents the farmers and growers of England and Wales.
The NFU support their members’ interests so when a story breaks in the media they need to get the message to their members in an immediate and consistent way. They constantly need to be prepared so they asked Rapide to find them a system that would work for them.
When the recent foot and mouth outbreak story first ran in the media, the NFU wanted to get a message to all their members affected, quickly and easily.
The solution
The President of NFU, Peter Kelland, recorded a voice message to make 20,803 livestock farmers in England aware of the situation and advise them how they would be affected. Rapide ensured the message was recorded and ready to send within around two hours. The message was sent to all the farmers’ landline phone numbers at the requested time.
