Barnet Council Case study

Company Mobile Phone Audit


The challenge
Barnet Council wanted to move 1,672 company mobile phones to the Vodafone network from another provider. Before they could move to Vodafone and enjoy the cost savings, they would need to find out details of the current users and handsets.

These details included the user’s employee reference number, their name as well as the type of their current handset. They asked Rapide to help.

The solution
Rapide provided Barnet Council with a Data Collation. The Data Collation included the combination of a website survey, an announcement by voice and text message followed by a reminder text message to those who did not respond.

The results – 80% of available devices responded within 4 weeks providing all the details Barnet Council needed to move to Vodafone.

The Data Collation survey also identified that 26% of devices that Barnet Council were paying for were no longer in use so they were paying line rental on handsets they didn’t need to. This ultimately saved them money when they moved to Vodafone as they only took across the amount of contracts they actually needed.

For less than £1.50 per phone Barnet Council were able to find out which employees had handsets, which handsets they had and which phones were no longer in use.
