Halifax New Homes Case Study

Responding to advertising with texts

The challenge

New home developments have lots of visible advertising on hoardings around the site. However, prospective buyers who are passing by can only talk to the sales team during office hours.   

The solution

Halifax tested the solution by adding a short text code to the advertising hoardings around two of their new property developments.  As it is just five digits long, it's easy for passers by to remember or text as they are walking past.  They send in a text with a key word from the advert, so Halifax can see which property they are interested in.  The sales team call the customer back later to talk through the property details and qualify the lead.

Lucy Fincham of Halifax new homes is pleased with the results; "A text message is a natural way to respond to outdoor advertising and we're impressed with how many customers have used it to ask for more information about the developments.  We're hoping to roll this out to our other properties too."
