The solution
Calling each member of staff individually is both ineffective and time consuming so Rapide set Manchester United up with a text messaging service to make things quicker and more efficient for them.
Text messages are fast and you know when they have been delivered to the recipients. It’s easy for the recipients to reply back to the text and it’s quick so you have an immediate response.
Manchester United send text messages to their catering team asking their availability for match days and functions. The staff reply back to the text with a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ dependent on whether they can work or not.
The day before the event those who text ‘yes’ are sent another text message reminding them to work. If the member of staff does not show up on the day they are sent text message asking where they are! This system has dramatically decreased the amount of no shows from staff.
