Two apprentices have proved they are on the right wavelength at a Coventry technology company.
Seventeen-year-old Liam Gilleram and 20-year-old Sara Hurren have passed their exams while working at Rapide Communication at the University of Warwick Science Park's Business Innovation Centre in Binley.
Liam, who joined the technical delivery team from Coventry's Cardinal Newman School, has passed NVQ level two in IT at Heart of England Training at Broadgate in Coventry city centre. |

Former Cardinal Wiseman School student Sara, who carries out administration for the human resources and finance departments, has passed NVQ level two in business administration at the same location.
Jayne Hill, marketing manager at Rapide Communication - formerly Wire-e - said Liam and Sara were an integral part of the 22-strong company which provides electronic messaging technology.
"As a technology company we have produced our own software and Liam supports the delivery of it," she said.
"If there are any problems or changes that need making he keeps everything running smoothly. He is definitely the backbone of the delivery team.
"Sara helps to keep all the mechanics of the office running smoothly which is vital for the operation of any business.
"We sometimes forget how young they are because they both provide such great support to our staff and customers.
"Although they go to college one day a week they have studying to do in their spare time but they are both continuing their studies since they are now working towards NVQ level three."
Jayne added: "The company has been formed for six-and-a-half years but we only changed the name in May.
"Business is going very well. We are launching new communications products all the time to enable our clients to communicate with thousands of staff and customers at the same time via text and voice messages."
Karen Aston, manager of the Binley Innovation Centre, said it was great to see a company investing in its staff.
"Any company however large or small is only successful if it has a high calibre of staff," she said.
"Liam and Sara are gaining excellent training at Rapide Communication and they are thriving on the responsibility they have been given.
"I am sure this time next year we will be congratulating the pair on their success in their NVQ level three exams." |
