North West gales up to Force 8, low pressure and high tides are increasing the risk of flooding around the UK’s Eastern Coastal regions and the Met have predicted that Felixstowe in Suffolk will see the highest tide since 1983.
The problem lies in how to alert businesses and residents in high risk areas of the impending problems. They need to be told whether they need to leave their property or if it is safe to remain there. Rapide has the key.
Rapide has an effective solution that already works for one of our customers. The Environment Agency uses Rapide’s text system as part of their FLOODLINE service to alert those at risk. They simply advertise their FLOODLINE telephone number (0845 988 1188) for people to register to receive warnings via its Floodline Warnings Direct (FWD) service. Once registered, they are given an account number and the FWD uses Rapide to send them a text when their property is at risk from flooding.

The text message can be sent to both mobile and landline phones so whatever information your customer gives you can still contact them which makes things a little easier.
