Members of Parliament have been phasing out their traditional pagers in favour of mobile phones. Gone are the days when they receive a pager message from a Chief Whip - now it’s a text message using Rapide!
The system they use is simple. All MP’s names and mobile phone numbers are added to the Rapide database and are ready to use straight away. The Chief Whips can choose which of the 400 MP’s receive the message making contacting them easy, quick and manageable.
Text messages are sent to the recipients quickly and if the MP is in the House of Commons they receive the message without disturbing proceedings as a pager would.
