How to drive revenue and build your marketing database with mobile and email


One of the UK’s largest retail companies wanted a way of building their marketing database. Using our engagement solutions not only were they able to do this, but they also increased revenue, grew repeat business and captured valuable insight.


So how did we do it?


We worked with our client to create a poster that was advertised in their stores, the poster contained a clear call to action:

“Text your email to 83070 to receive 5% off today”


The customer then received an MMS with a voucher that could be redeemed by taking it to the checkout. In one day this increased our client’s average revenue by 7% and captured their customers' email addresses and mobile numbers.

When the customer returned home they were greeted with an email which thanked them for their visit. The email also asked them to rate their visit by simply clicking on a smiley face which best represented how they felt. On clicking on their chosen face the customer was then asked if they had any comments they would like to leave. Over 1000 customers rated their experience with 500 choosing to leave additional feedback. All this feedback was then analysed and presented by Rant & Rave - our award winning customer insight solution.

As well as gaining customer insight the email had other benefits. It offered an additional 5% off for any customers returning within two weeks, all the customer had to do was print out the email. This enabled our clients to increase their repeat business and measure their results.


The email also offered a further incentive – another 5% off if the customer updated their profile. This linked through to a short form which asked for the customer’s: name, address and DOB – on submission they were posted their offer ensuring the address and name were valid.


On carrying out this one campaign our clients can now send their customers additional offers and information in a variety of channels, such as:
