Motor Show Uses Mobile Marketing To Interact With Visitors

The British International Motor Show, organised by International Motor Industry Events, includes a strong mobile element for the first time. The event organisers can track the most effective sales channels by using different keywords in each advertisement format. During the show itself, visitors will be sent messages containing news relevant to the day on which they attend and any unsold tickets will be offered by SMS.
“Mobile gives visitors a sneak preview of the show and allows us to interact with them much more closely,” said Emma Perkinson, Marketing Director.
The Scottish Institute for Enterprise hold events throughout the year open to large volumes of lecturers and business people across the country.
At The National Enterprise Summit, The Institute wanted the attendees to ask the speakers live questions at the event but knew that using a microphone would not be a viable option due to the numbers of delegates.
Rapide set the Institute up with a text service to use at their live event so when the attendees had a question for a specific speaker they would text a short code number, starting the message with the speaker’s name e.g. JAMES. The messages went straight to a live web page where Institute staff selected questions for the speakers from the list.
“The solution that Rapide provided for our conference made an important difference to our event by allowing us to make the best possible use of time. The mobile service enabled us to screen the questions and put the most interesting and most relevant to our speakers,” said James Barlow, CEO.
“I would definitely use Rapide again and strongly recommend them to anyone holding similar events.”
