The challenge

Vodafone arranged an exclusive event for a number of its high level management

customers which included a tour of the McLaren Technology Centre as well as a spin

around the track by Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton.

For such important customers and such an exclusive event the invitation needed to be extra special. The idea was that each customer would receive a Vodafone invitation pack containing a BlackBerry with SatNav. On that BlackBerry would be a voice mail from Lewis Hamilton himself inviting them to the event.

The whole concept relied on being able to get the voice mail messages on to the phones prior to the customer’s receiving them which is where Rapide were asked to help.

The solution

Lewis recorded personalised invitation messages for each of the invitees.

Once these had been recorded, Rapide sent each one to the voicemail of the respective customer’s phone. So when the customer received the invitation pack a personal voice mail from Lewis was waiting for them.

The voice messages created the impact Vodafone had envisaged and enabled the invitation to work as designed.
