WAP Sites
WAP stands for Wireless Application Protocol, but don't let that scare you. It's just a way of looking at information from the internet on a mobile phone. The sites are specifically built to make them easier to view - with fewer words and simpler graphics.
It's easy to send a link to a WAP site using on an ordinary SMS Text Message. In most cases the customer's phone doesn't need any special settings so it's an ideal way for them to download ringtones, pictures, wallpaper, or video clips. As well as demonstrating or promoting your product, these have value as incentives - maybe as a reward for registering contact information.
If you're collecting customer details, a page on a WAP site is much easier for a customer to complete as well as giving you information in a consistent format.
